Eight hours a day
Is what is said to be
Fair contribution to society
For those hanging in the middle of the American ladder
But not all eight hours
Are spent wisely, or wasted
Used for true good
For life changing innovations
To simply put a meal on the table
And for guilty pleasures
Who’s to say their true value?
We love to judge, but not be judged on the value of our work
Some days just making it to the office is a miracle
Others, solving world hunger is the golden standard
Money in, is money out
It can all seem transactional
Just trying to get by
Without too much of a moral compromise
All while aiming to become world renowned
