The Creative Life Cycle

Little bits and pieces
Some old and some new
Some from projects completed
Some I’ll never use
Some yet to be started
Man, they sparkle when they’re new

This is where I find myself
Whenever I come to
I vacuum up a sewing pin
Pull ends of yarn from the cracks of the couch
Dust off all the half finished projects
Coming one day soon
I unload bags with project parts for projects, I swear I thought I could  do

At 3 in the morning
In my hand knit socks, my feet scurry all around the house
Redistributing all the bits and pieces
Led by my suddenly inspired scheming mind
Thinking of something new

This is the life cycle of a creative
We are both genius and gullible to our own minds
We learn to live with those bits and pieces
Spread all throughout the house
In fact, we may even love them
And we hope that you do too
