If I could organize my brain
Like a pine tree
With a fiery passionate trunk
A sturdy core
LImbs of ideas
Where nests can be built
Pointed needles
Where the rawness is synthesized to fine detail that supports growth
Roots
Where ideas are not buried
But stored for a season
Until they draw resources
For expansion
A brain as iconic as the scent of sticky pine sap
Timeless and seasonal
Nostalgic and warm and wintery
Inviting
If I could organize my brain like a pine tree
Perhaps a forest would grow around me
Squirrels will scurry along our branches
Insects climb up our trunk
Lichen finds home on our bark
Birds fly between us
What a diverse ecosystem we will attract
And support
With a natural organization of the mind
Like a Pine Tree
