Ending a Journey

Ending a journey
That may not seem complete
Can leave us with a sense of defeat
To arrive at our destination
Our mentors provided a lead
In crafting a direction to achieve a great feat
Disappointment in “quitting” our original intention
Does not help us to grieve

Letting go of this perception doesn’t come with great ease
Our emotions, even if rooted in self doubt, are not obsolete
But release is necessary to walk down a new street

Finding our next move takes courage
As we overcome the overbearing desire to retreat
But in the end we can all find our next seat
